Coogee building 120ML diesel storage at Kwinana, raising capacity to over 240ML

Project
Coogee is constructing 120ML of additional bulk diesel storage at its Kwinana terminal, bringing total site capacity to more than 240ML. Construction has commenced and the company says the tanks are on schedule to be commissioned and operational by June 2023.
Funding and program
The project was announced as a successful recipient of the Federal Government’s Boosting Australia’s Fuel Storage Program (BADSP) in July 2021; Coogee says the grant provided necessary support to build the strategic infrastructure.
Customers and connectivity
Viva Energy Australia has been named as the foundation customer for the new tanks on an open-access commingled basis. The new shore-based tankage will tie into existing wharf-lines at the Kwinana Bulk Jetty, pipelines from the BP facility, and established road and rail gantries.
Strategic impact
Coogee positions the additional storage to support diesel supply for Western Australian sectors including mining, agriculture and transport. The company highlights its independent, open-access commingled terminal model as a means to lower supply costs and provide optionality to fuel majors.
