Project award and partners

Bilfinger has been awarded the Phase 2 expansion contract for the Söğüt Gold Mine and will execute the scope through its recently acquired Teknokon Endüstri Tesisleri İnsaat ve Montaj A.S. on behalf of owner Gübretaş.

Scope and process

Over a 24‑month period starting June 2026, the project team will implement a new processing facility covering civil engineering, structural steel erection, mechanical and electrical, instrumentation & control installations, insulation and commissioning activities. The plant will treat underground ore by crushing, grinding and subsequent flotation and pressure filtration to extract gold concentrate.

Delivery history and scale

The Phase 2 award builds on a Phase 1 delivery in 2022, when Teknokon completed prefabrication and installation works in eight months under tight time constraints; that opening was attended by the President of Türkiye. At peak execution for Phase 2, up to 650 employees will be deployed onsite to ensure efficient delivery.
