Site Operations and Agreements

Bayer AG has reached an agreement with employee representatives to secure its German sites until 2030, with the exception of the Frankfurt site, which will close by 2028. This decision follows a joint declaration on site security and socially acceptable personnel adjustments post-2026. The agreement will be incorporated into collective agreements by mid-2026.

Impact on Employees

The withdrawal from Frankfurt and job cuts at other sites are significant, but measures are in place to support affected employees. These include severance packages, relocation assistance, and help in finding new employment outside Bayer. The company aims to provide fair and secure prospects for all employees in Germany.

Employee Protection Measures

From 2027, Bayer will offer individual protection for employees whose jobs are eliminated. Those not opting for severance after a six-month reflection period will enter a protection phase for professional reorientation. This phase, graded by length of service, excludes dismissal for operational reasons.
