Transaction update
BASF has appointed Citi, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan as Global Coordinators to lead preparation of a planned initial public offering of its Agricultural Solutions business. The company intends to list Agricultural Solutions as a Societas Europaea (SE) on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and targets IPO readiness by mid-2027.
Operational separation
The legal and operational separation is progressing: roughly 80% of the global Agricultural Solutions business now operates in separate legal entities on a new industry-specific ERP system. BASF says this enables greater agility, stronger customer proximity and more targeted responses to agricultural market needs, while governance and public-company capabilities are being established.
Timing and next steps
BASF will present a strategic and operational overview of Agricultural Solutions at a Capital Markets Day on 24 November 2026, with all four members of the unit’s Management Board presenting. No final decision has been made on executing or timing an IPO; any decision will depend on factors such as prevailing capital market conditions.
