Expansion Plans

Arkema is set to expand its Kynar® PVDF production capacity by 20% at its Changshu site in China, with operations expected to commence in 2028. This move aligns with the growing demand for Kynar® PVDF in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

Market Demand

The additional capacity will cater to the increasing demand across various sectors, including lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems, high-performance coatings, chemical processing, semiconductor manufacturing, water filtration, and wire and cable industries.

Global R&D Support

Arkema's global R&D ecosystem, which includes centers in China, France, Japan, South Korea, and the United States, supports this expansion. These centers facilitate collaboration with customers and accelerate the development of high-performance solutions for energy transition and advanced manufacturing.

Global Production

Arkema is a leading global producer of PVDF, with the Changshu platform being its largest manufacturing site. The company also produces PVDF in Calvert City, Kentucky, where a new capacity increase is set to start in the second quarter of 2026, and at its Pierre-Benite site in France.
