Partnership and scope
Altris, Clarios and InoBat have extended their collaboration on sodium‑ion cells under a Joint Development Agreement centered on the Power Sodium platform. The partnership combines Altris’ cathode material development, Clarios’ low‑voltage battery systems expertise and InoBat’s cell development and manufacturing capabilities to support a more resilient European battery value chain.
Validation results
Recent validation work across key customers confirmed sodium‑ion cells meeting demanding operating conditions, including cold‑start performance down to −40°C. Tests covered automotive, heavy‑duty, off‑highway, commercial vehicle and intralogistics applications and reinforced the relevance of the current cell design for those segments.
Materials and manufacturing readiness
The validated performance relies on Altris’ Fennac® Prussian White cathode active material (CAM), which the partners say can be produced in Europe at scale and contains no lithium, nickel or cobalt. Based on these results and expanded testing, the partners report confidence to progress from technology development toward pilot‑scale and small‑series production.
