New Plant in Dunkirk
Aliphos has established a new inorganic feed phosphate plant in Dunkirk, designed to produce Aliphos® Dical+ with high phosphorus digestibility. The plant's flexibility in raw material use aligns with Aliphos' sustainability goals and allows the use of alternative sources that traditional processes cannot handle.
Strategic Objectives
Aliphos aims to regain market leadership in Europe by focusing on product quality and installed capacity. The company is also expanding its presence globally, with projects in Egypt and India, targeting a total production capacity of 1 million tons of inorganic feed phosphate worldwide.
Product Innovation
The new Aliphos® Dical+ is a micro-granular, free-flowing, and dust-free product, offering improved physical characteristics for easier handling. A digestibility trial conducted on poultry in Wageningen showed an 82% phosphorus digestibility for Aliphos® Dical+, surpassing published values for DCP and aligning with MCP digestibility.
Location Advantages
Dunkirk was chosen for its ample space, industrial infrastructure, and excellent logistics options, including ship, barge, train, and truck. The location's proximity to core European markets further supports Aliphos' strategic goals. Ecophos plans additional developments at the Dunkirk site for new products in the animal feed sector and other applications.
