ABO Energy Advances German Wind Projects

Key highlights
  • Tariffs awarded for 16.4 MW (Schwerte 6.8 MW; Öhringen 9.6 MW); turbines to be grid‑connected by autumn 2027.
  • Secured permits: Olpe‑Rehringhausen (3×Enercon E‑175, 21 MW) and Tholey (2×Nordex N163, 14 MW); approval granted to switch to next‑generation Nordex at St. Gangloff (5×N163, 35 MW).
  • Sold Nonnenholz II project right (Vestas V162, 6 MW) to a regional buyer; permit and tariff secured enabling rapid implementation.
  • Activated financing for Ortenberg (3×Enercon E‑175, 21 MW); company holds 650 MW of permitted projects and March bondholders' resolution allows use of collateral to obtain guarantees for future tariff auctions.

Tariff awards

ABO Energy received tariffs for 16.4 MW in the February onshore wind tender: one turbine in Schwerte (6.8 MW) and two turbines in Öhringen (9.6 MW); the three turbines are scheduled for grid connection by autumn 2027. The Federal Network Agency awarded tariffs to 439 bids totalling 3.4 GW; the average awarded tariff was 5.54 ct/kWh (previous auction: 6.06 ct). A March 9 bondholders' resolution allows ABO to provide collateral to obtain guarantees, supporting future tender participation.

Permits, approvals and project sale

Permits were secured for Olpe‑Rehringhausen (3×Enercon E‑175, 21 MW) and Tholey (2×Nordex N163, 14 MW). In St. Gangloff approval was granted to switch to a next‑generation Nordex turbine type (5×N163, 35 MW). The Nonnenholz II project right (1×Vestas V162, 6 MW) was sold to a regional buyer; as permit and tariff were already secured the project can be implemented at short notice.

Financing and pipeline

ABO activated a financing agreement for the Ortenberg project (3×Enercon E‑175, 21 MW) and currently holds 650 MW of permitted wind projects in Germany.
