Enercon GmbH is a German wind turbine manufacturer headquartered in Aurich, Lower Saxony. Founded in 1984 by Aloys Wobben, the company specializes in the development, production, sales, and servicing of onshore wind turbines featuring innovative gearless direct-drive technology, first introduced with the E-40 model in 1993.
