Investment and Employment
Each February 19th, Huelva celebrates its Industry Day, highlighting the economic contributions of AIQBE’s associated industries. In 2016, the last year with available data, investments reached nearly 190 million euros. AIQBE companies employed over 4,300 people, both directly and indirectly, demonstrating a commitment to education, solidarity, and culture in the community.
Technical Conference
The first event on February 15th was a Technical Conference featuring Manuel Toharia Cortés, who spoke on "Fighting Waste Civilization." The conference was followed by a round table discussion with AIQBE’s president, University of Huelva professor Pedro Pérez, and University of Sevilla professor Rafael Salgueiro.
Special Mention and Inauguration
During Industry Day, a Special Mention for Industrial Trajectory was awarded to CIFP “Profesor Rodríguez Casado” for its excellence in industrial education. On February 19th, the President of the Junta de Andalucía inaugurated new installations at the CEPSA Oil Refinery, emphasizing continuous improvement and innovation.
Benefit Concert and Other Activities
On February 20th, a benefit concert was held in favor of “La Ciudad de los Niños de la Fundación Hermanos Obreros de María,” performed by the Symphonic Orchestra of the Professional Music School of Huelva “Javier Perianes” at the Gran Teatro de Huelva. Additional activities included a paddle tournament for employees and the visit of the “Aula Móvil” from Fundación Repsol on February 22-23, educating the public about energy and crude oil applications.
