The BEST Annual Conference 2025, organized by BEST – bioenergy and sustainable technologies, took place on September 17, 2025, at Hotel Das Weitzer in Graz, Austria. It was a one-day event from 10:00 to 18:00, providing an overview of current project results in areas such as thermochemical and biochemical technologies, syngas platform technologies, sustainable supply and value cycles, process analysis, automation, and microgrids.
The program included presentations on topics like GreenCarbon Lab findings, biochar control (pyro4PPC), acidification of waste, AQUACYCLE, chemical recycling via gasification, eFuel approaches, char formation modeling, and more. Key speakers included representatives from Wien Energie GmbH (Christian Einzinger on emerging technologies for sustainable energy), AVL (Manuel Tandl/Richard Schauperl on eFuel), and researchers from BEST and partners like Sisyphus (Thomas Cotter), ÖVGW (Michael Obermann), and University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna.
A poster session facilitated scientific dialogue and networking, with project partners presenting innovative projects for the first time.
