Zinkgruvan Mining AB is a Swedish base-metals producer operating the Zinkgruvan underground mine near Askersund in Örebro County. Established in the 19th century and now a wholly owned subsidiary of Lundin Mining Corporation, it is among Sweden’s longest-running metal mining operations.
The company mines and processes ore on site to produce zinc, lead, and copper concentrates, with silver commonly recovered as a by-product. Concentrates are supplied to smelters for further refining into metals used in galvanizing, alloys, batteries, and electrical applications. Operations comprise underground mining, crushing, grinding, and flotation, with on-site processing and logistics to ship concentrates to customers in regional and international markets.
