WISA Group Plc is a Finnish company formed through the partial demerger of UPM-Kymmene Oyj's Plywood business, approved by UPM's Board on April 29, 2026. The demerger is planned for completion on October 31, 2026, subject to shareholder approval, with shares expected to list on Nasdaq Helsinki around November 2, 2026.
The company will operate seven production units in Finland and Estonia, with a theoretical maximum capacity of approximately 785,000 m³ per year. It specializes in high-quality WISA® plywood and veneer products, serving applications such as construction, vehicle flooring, LNG shipbuilding, parquet manufacturing, and other industrial uses. Products include birch and spruce plywood variants like WISA-Birch, WISA-Spruce FR (fire-retardant), and innovative options such as WISA BioBond.
In 2025, the plywood business reported sales of €409 million and comparable EBITDA of €55 million. Tuija Suur-Hamari has been appointed President and CEO, effective upon demerger completion.
