Vioneo is a plastics technology and project development company launched in 2024 by A.P. Moller Holding to build industrial-scale, fossil‑free polymer production. The company is developing a complex in Antwerp, Belgium, designed to manufacture segregated, traceable polyethylene and polypropylene using green methanol as the primary feedstock.
The planned site includes a 110,000 t/y autoclave low‑density polyethylene (LDPE) unit licensed from ECI Group and a ~200,000 t/y polypropylene (PP) unit using Lummus Technology’s Novolen process, for a combined capacity of about 300 ktpa. Operations are intended to be highly electrified and powered by renewable electricity, with renewable hydrogen support. Feedstocks will be derived from green methanol and converted to segregated green ethylene and propylene.
Vioneo targets ISCC PLUS certification and drop‑in products that are fully traceable and designed to lower lifecycle emissions versus fossil-based alternatives, supporting customers’ Scope 3 reduction goals. Engineering and technology partners include Wood (FEED), Lummus Technology (process and catalysts), and ECI Group, with market and product expertise contributed by Repsol.
