Urbaser is a global environmental services and waste‑management company headquartered in Madrid, Spain. It provides municipal solid‑waste collection and street cleansing; operates material‑recovery facilities; and manages recycling, organics treatment (composting and anaerobic digestion), landfill operations, and energy‑from‑waste plants. Urbaser also handles industrial and hazardous waste and delivers environmental operations for public authorities and private clients across Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, and Asia‑Pacific.
The company’s activities center on resource recovery and the circular economy, producing secondary raw materials (recyclates, compost and digestate), refuse‑derived fuels, biogas/biomethane, and electricity or heat from residual waste. Urbaser develops and operates infrastructure aimed at waste reduction, material valorization, and emissions mitigation, and participates in initiatives that apply biotechnology and advanced processing to convert municipal and industrial waste into usable materials and energy.
Also known as Urbaser SA and TECMED.
The biorefinery converts urban waste into high-value products, supporting circular economy goals and reducing landfill waste, while creating jobs and promoting sustainable growth.
