UHU GmbH & Co. KG is a German manufacturer of adhesive products, headquartered in Bühl, Baden. Founded in 1905 by pharmacist August Fischer, who acquired a small chemical factory established in 1884, the company pioneered the world's first ready-to-use, crystal-clear synthetic resin adhesive in 1932, named UHU after the eagle owl.
Since 1994, UHU has been part of Bolton Adhesives, the adhesives division of the Bolton Group. It produces a wide range of glues, including all-purpose adhesives, glue sticks, super glues, epoxy products, and tapes for applications in home, office, school, crafts, repairs, and industry. Products are sold worldwide in over 125 countries.
The company maintains manufacturing in Germany and the Netherlands, with a logistics center at Rheinmünster Chemical Park since 2018. Plans are underway for a new sustainable production facility at the site to centralize operations, enhance efficiency, and reduce CO2 emissions through energy-efficient design and electrification.
