SAIC General Motors Corporation Limited (SAIC GM, also SGM) is a Chinese automotive joint venture between SAIC Motor Corporation Limited and General Motors Company. Established in 1997 and headquartered in Shanghai, it manufactures and markets passenger vehicles in China under the Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac brands.
SAIC GM operates multiple assembly and powertrain facilities and supports nationwide sales, service, and parts networks. Its portfolio covers conventional internal-combustion models and new energy vehicles. The company’s operations interface extensively with chemical-intensive supply chains, including coatings, sealants, adhesives, plastics, and other materials used in body, paint, and final assembly, and it collaborates with domestic and international suppliers on quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
