The Regenerative Organic Alliance (ROA) is a nonprofit organization that develops and administers the Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC) standard. ROC builds on certified organic practices and sets additional requirements for soil health and land management, animal welfare, and social fairness. ROA works with accredited third-party certifiers to evaluate farms, ranches, and supply chains, providing a label that verifies practices and traceability from raw material to finished goods.
ROA’s certification is used across sectors that source agricultural inputs, including food, textiles, and personal care. For the chemical and ingredients value chain, ROC can apply to botanical extracts, oils, waxes, and other bio-based feedstocks, informing responsible sourcing claims and sustainability metrics related to climate, biodiversity, and worker welfare. The alliance’s standards and verification help brands and suppliers align agricultural raw materials with higher environmental and social performance expectations.
