Palurec GmbH is a German recycling company focused on recovering plastics and aluminum from used beverage cartons. Established by the beverage carton industry, the company operates an industrial facility in Hürth (Chemiepark Knapsack) that processes the composite “PolyAl” fraction remaining after paper fibers are recovered at paper mills.
Using mechanical and wet separation steps, including extrusion and density-based sorting, Palurec separates and upgrades polyethylene and aluminum into recyclates suitable for further processing. The outputs—PE regranulate and aluminum concentrate—are supplied to plastics converters and metal recyclers, contributing to higher material recovery rates from beverage carton waste and supporting circular use of resources in the packaging value chain.
