Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited

About NNPC

Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) is Nigeria’s state-owned, integrated energy company. Headquartered in Abuja, it oversees exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas onshore and offshore, largely through joint ventures and production-sharing contracts with international partners. The company transitioned from the former Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to a Companies and Allied Matters Act entity under the Petroleum Industry Act, with a commercial mandate and government ownership.

NNPC manages key elements of Nigeria’s midstream and downstream infrastructure, including crude and gas gathering, processing, pipelines and storage depots, as well as domestic supply and trading of refined products. It is involved in rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt, Warri and Kaduna refineries, and supports gas commercialization via subsidiaries such as the Nigerian Gas Company and equity participation in Nigeria LNG. The company is a major supplier of feedstocks such as natural gas, condensates and LPG to power, industrial and petrochemical users, linking upstream resources to Nigeria’s refining and chemicals value chain.
