PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim (NKNK) is a major Russian petrochemical producer based in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan. It operates one of Eastern Europe’s largest integrated petrochemical sites and is part of the Sibur group following the consolidation of TAIF’s petrochemical assets.
The company’s portfolio spans basic petrochemicals and downstream materials, including ethylene, propylene, butadiene, benzene, and styrene, as well as polymers and elastomers. Nizhnekamskneftekhim is a significant supplier of synthetic rubbers—such as isoprene, butyl/halobutyl, styrene‑butadiene, and polybutadiene rubbers—used primarily in tire and automotive applications. It also produces plastics and intermediates including polystyrene and MTBE, supported by large-scale steam-cracking and related processing units within its integrated complex.
Nizhnekamskneftekhim serves domestic and international markets, supplying feedstocks and finished materials to the tire, packaging, consumer goods, and industrial sectors. Its operations encompass production, logistics, and technical support capabilities concentrated at the Nizhnekamsk industrial hub.
Linde will supply an olefin plant in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan, with a capacity of 600,000 tonnes of ethylene annually, doubling in future. The plant will start operations in 2022.
