Based in Kirkuk, the company receives raw gas primarily from the adjacent North Oil Company operations in the Kirkuk region, including fields such as Kirkuk, Bai Hassan, Jambur, and Khabbaz. It processes this gas into dry gas for the national electricity grid and local industries, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for domestic cooking and vehicle fuel, natural gasoline, and sulfur for export and industrial use. Daily output has included approximately 380 million standard cubic feet of dry gas and over 1,100 tons of LPG in recent periods.

As a key player in Iraq’s northern energy sector, NGC supports efforts to reduce gas flaring, enhance energy self-sufficiency, and supply power plants in Kirkuk, Mosul, and surrounding areas. The company operates dedicated processing facilities in Kirkuk and has pursued capacity expansions, including additional production lines and infrastructure upgrades. It has collaborated with international partners such as BP on modernization projects tied to the redevelopment of Kirkuk oil and gas assets.

Established in 1998 as a public company, NGC remains wholly state-owned and focuses on midstream gas processing, contributing to Iraq’s oil and gas value chain while supplying essential fuels and byproducts to domestic and export markets.
