Nayara Energy Limited is an India-based integrated downstream energy company formerly known as Essar Oil. Headquartered in Mumbai, the company operates the Vadinar refinery in Gujarat—one of India’s largest single-site refineries—and associated port and terminal infrastructure. Nayara is backed by Rosneft and an investment consortium led by Trafigura and UCP.
The company refines crude oil into transportation fuels such as gasoline, diesel, aviation turbine fuel, and LPG, and also produces bitumen, sulfur, petcoke, and other refinery products and feedstocks. It markets fuels through a large nationwide retail network and supplies industrial and commercial customers across India. Nayara is developing its petrochemicals capabilities at the Vadinar site to serve growing domestic demand for polymers and related materials.
