Mangistaumunaigas Joint Stock Company (often rendered Mangistaumunaigaz, MMG) is a Kazakhstan-based upstream oil and gas producer operating primarily in the Mangystau Region near the Caspian Sea. The company explores, develops, and produces crude oil and associated gas from a portfolio of onshore fields.
Its core assets include the mature Kalamkas and Zhetybai fields, alongside several satellite deposits, with output supplied to Kazakhstan’s domestic refining system and exported via established pipeline and rail routes. Mangistaumunaigas focuses on reservoir management and enhanced oil recovery to sustain brownfield production and develop hard-to-recover reserves. The company is jointly owned by National Company KazMunayGas (KMG) and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) through their Mangistau Investments B.V. joint venture.
