About Li-Cycle

Li-Cycle is a battery materials recovery company focused on recycling lithium-ion batteries for the electric mobility, consumer electronics, and energy storage industries. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Toronto, Canada, the company operates facilities in North America and Europe and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange (ticker: LICY).

Li-Cycle’s process uses a spoke-and-hub configuration: regional Spokes mechanically process end-of-life batteries and manufacturing scrap into intermediate “black mass,” and centralized Hubs apply hydrometallurgical refining to recover key materials such as lithium, nickel, cobalt, manganese, and graphite for reintroduction into the battery supply chain. The company works with battery manufacturers, automotive OEMs, and recyclers to manage battery manufacturing waste and end-of-life packs, with a focus on improving recovery rates of critical materials and supplying inputs for battery-grade chemicals.
