Jordan Green Ammonia

About JGA

Jordan Green Ammonia LLC (JGA) is a joint venture between Poland-based Hynfra and Jordan-based Fidelity Group, established to develop a green hydrogen and ammonia production facility in the Port of Aqaba, within Jordan's Aqaba Special Economic Zone.

The project features a planned capacity of 100,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of renewable ammonia, powered by approximately 550 MWp of renewable energy, including solar PV. It incorporates electrolyzers for green hydrogen production from desalinated seawater, alongside energy storage and desalination infrastructure. Estimated CAPEX is around $1.6 billion.

Key milestones include a 2023 Memorandum of Understanding with Jordan's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for feasibility studies—delivered in May 2024—and land use agreements signed in September 2024 with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority and Aqaba Development Corporation. Recent developments encompass a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract with Topsoe. Commercial operations are targeted for 2029, supporting exports primarily to Europe for fertilizer and decarbonization applications, with potential local sales of byproducts like hydrogen and desalinated water.
