The primary business of Jeco Corporation is to hold and manage a 10% equity interest in Minera Escondida Ltda., the Chilean company that operates the Escondida copper mine in the Antofagasta Region of northern Chile. This mine is the world's largest copper producer, with BHP as the operator and majority owner at 57.5%, Rio Tinto at 30%, and the balance of the Japanese stake held through a related entity, Jeco 2 Ltd. (2.5%).

Through this investment, Jeco Corporation participates in the extraction, processing, and marketing of copper concentrates and cathodes from one of the globe's premier porphyry copper deposits. The company maintains its headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, and serves as a vehicle for Japanese industrial groups to secure long-term access to critical mineral resources. It plays a supporting role in the global copper supply chain, contributing to the stability of supply for industries reliant on the metal, including electronics, construction, and renewable energy technologies.
