Gübre Fabrikaları Türk Anonim Şirketi, known as Gübretaş or GÜBRETAŞ, is a major Turkish producer of chemical fertilizers and related agricultural inputs. Established in 1952 by a Council of Ministers decision and commencing production in 1954 at its pioneering Iskenderun facility, the company manufactures solid, liquid, powder, organic and organomineral fertilizers, along with biostimulants, soil conditioners and plant nutrition products. It operates multiple production sites, laboratories, an R&D center, logistics facilities and ports in locations including Yarımca, İzmir and İskenderun, serving Turkey's agricultural sector through over 2,500 sales points and regional directorates.
The company is majority-owned by the Central Union of Turkish Agricultural Credit Cooperatives (Tarım Kredi Kooperatifleri Merkez Birliği) with approximately 78.73% of shares; the remainder is publicly traded on Borsa Istanbul under the ticker GUBRF, where it forms part of major indices. It maintains international interests, including a stake in Iran's Razi Petrochemical Company, and provides port and logistics services.
Gübretaş has diversified beyond fertilizers into mining via its wholly owned subsidiary Gübretaş Maden Yatırımları A.Ş. This includes operation and expansion of the Söğüt Gold Mine in Bilecik Province, Türkiye, where Phase 2 developments are increasing gold processing and production capacity through new crushing, grinding, flotation and filtration facilities. The company holds a leading position in Turkey's fertilizer market while expanding its role in domestic mineral extraction.
