About EVE

Ente Vasco de la Energía (EVE) is the Basque Government’s energy agency responsible for planning and implementing regional energy policy in the Basque Country, Spain. It acts as a public instrument to advance security of supply, competitiveness, and sustainability across the regional economy.

EVE promotes and co-develops projects in renewable power (such as wind, solar, hydro and biomass), energy efficiency and cogeneration, electricity and gas infrastructure, sustainable mobility, energy storage, and emerging vectors like green hydrogen. The agency provides technical assistance, manages incentive programs, and partners with municipalities and industry through public–private initiatives. Its work supports the decarbonization of energy-intensive sectors—including chemicals—by fostering efficiency upgrades, electrification, and greater use of low‑carbon energy sources.
