About Chemtura

Chemtura Corporation was a U.S.-based specialty chemicals company headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Formed in 2005 through the merger of Crompton Corporation and Great Lakes Chemical Corporation, it operated globally supplying materials used across industrial and consumer markets. Chemtura later became part of LANXESS (2017).

The company’s portfolio spanned lubricant additives and synthetic lubricants for demanding industrial and aviation applications; polymer additives, including flame-retardant solutions for plastics and electronics; urethane prepolymers and systems for elastomers, coatings, and adhesives; and organometallic catalysts used in polymer production and fine chemical synthesis. Its products served end markets such as automotive, aerospace, electrical and electronics, construction, energy, and general industrial manufacturing.
