BioMCN is a Dutch methanol producer based at Chemical Park Delfzijl in the province of Groningen. The company manufactures conventional methanol and biomethanol and is part of OCI Global (OCI N.V.).
BioMCN converts carbon-containing feedstocks into methanol for use as a basic chemical and energy carrier. Alongside natural-gas–based production, it has developed routes that use renewable and waste-derived inputs—such as biogas, crude glycerin from biodiesel production, and captured carbon streams—to produce biomethanol with a lower carbon footprint. Its products supply downstream markets including formaldehyde, acetic acid, MTBE, and other derivatives, as well as fuel applications where methanol and biomethanol are used as low-emission components, including in marine and road transport.
