Avangrid, Inc. is a U.S.-based energy company headquartered in Orange, Connecticut. It operates as a fully owned subsidiary of Iberdrola, S.A. following the completion of a merger in December 2024 that took the company private.
Avangrid manages regulated utility networks and renewable power generation. Its networks business includes seven electric and natural gas utilities serving more than 3.4 million customers in New York and New England. The power business encompasses over 80 generation facilities with more than 11 GW of installed capacity across 25 states, primarily from wind and solar projects.
Recent activities include connecting the 166 MWdc Tower Solar photovoltaic plant in Oregon to the grid, with output supplied under customer-driven clean energy programs.
