Alpek Polyester Pernambuco S.A. is a Brazilian petrochemical company that produces Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA), the primary raw material for polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin and polyester fibers. It operates the sole PTA manufacturing plant in South America, located in the Suape Industrial Port Complex in Ipojuca, Pernambuco, Brazil. The facility spans approximately 160,000 square meters within a larger 547,000 square meter industrial complex and has a nominal production capacity of 700,000 tons per year, utilizing Invista Performance Technologies for optimized efficiency, resource minimization, and product reliability.

The company is a key subsidiary within Alpek Polyester, a global leader in the integrated polyester value chain that manufactures PTA, PET resins, recycled PET (rPET), specialty polymers, and polyester fibers (staple and filament). Alpek Polyester maintains a network of manufacturing sites across North and South America, Europe, and Asia, serving customers in packaging, textiles, and other sectors worldwide. The Pernambuco operations support downstream PET production at the same complex and contribute to Alpek Polyester's position as the largest integrated PTA-PET producer in South America.

Established in 2006, the entity was acquired in 2018 by Alpek from Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras), previously known as Companhia Petroquímica de Pernambuco (Petroquímica Suape). It operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Alpek, S.A.B. de C.V., the petrochemical segment of the Mexican multinational Alfa Group, which is publicly listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange. The strategic coastal location provides strong logistics advantages for maritime and land transport, enabling efficient supply to Brazilian and export markets. Operations prioritize sustainability, energy efficiency, and adherence to high safety and quality standards in the regional petrochemical industry.

Also known as Petroquímica Suape and Companhia Petroquímica de Pernambuco.
