The plant will convert waste into renewable methanol, creating jobs and reducing CO2 emissions, with EU support for its innovative approach to decarbonizing transport.
Ecoplanta's project in Tarragona will use non-recyclable waste to produce methanol and biofuels, reducing 3.4 Mt CO2eq emissions over ten years, aligning with EU decarbonization goals.
The plant will process 400,000 tons of waste to produce 220,000 tons of methanol, reducing CO2 emissions by 200,000 tons. It will be operational by 2025 and has received necessary environmental approvals.
