The concentration of oil refineries and related plants on the eastern edge of Edmonton, in west Sherwood Park in Strathcona County, between the North Saskatchewan River and the Sherwood Park Freeway. Imperial's Strathcona refinery and Suncor's Edmonton refinery dominate it, with a hydrogen plant serving Suncor, Imperial's renewable diesel unit, and methanol, EVA and iso-octane plants nearby. It lies apart from the larger Industrial Heartland north-east of the city.
