NOVA Chemicals' petrochemical complex near Joffre, east of Red Deer in central Alberta, on about 900 acres. Three ethane crackers, the first started in 1979, feed two polyethylene plants on the site, which use most of its ethylene; the third cracker is a joint venture with Dow. An INEOS plant on the site turns NOVA's ethylene into linear alpha olefins.
