CIVAC

JiutepecMexico

An industrial city of about 230 hectares at Jiutepec, just south-east of Cuernavaca in Morelos, created by presidential decree in 1966 and planned with housing for the workers; since 1972 an association of the companies on the site has run its roads, water and other services. Nissan and the drug maker Syntex were among its first tenants, and it remains a centre for pharmaceuticals, with plants making active ingredients, dialysis and intravenous solutions, generic medicines and veterinary products, beside Unilever's personal care plant.
