BASF's Verbund site at Freeport, Texas, founded in 1958 as its first production site outside Europe and now counting 26 plants. It makes acrylic monomers, superabsorbent polymers, caprolactam and polyamide 6, and hosts the ammonia plant that BASF owns with Yara.
