- Facility will feature centralized QC and MSAT labs and incorporate green technologies including solar panels and advanced energy monitoring.
Project milestone
WuXi Biologics has completed the topping out of its modular Drug Product (DP) facility at the Singapore CRDMO Hub in Tuas Biomedical Park. The hub occupies a 13.5‑hectare site and the DP building spans approximately 30,000 square meters.
Capacity and capabilities
The facility is designed to produce about 100 million units per year of pre‑filled syringes and vials. It adds 120,000 liters of manufacturing capacity to the company’s network and will contain three pre‑filled syringe lines and two vial lines for both liquid and lyophilized products, along with centralized Quality Control (QC) and Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) labs to support clinical and commercial stages.
Sustainability and design
The modular DP plant is built on the company’s proprietary technology platforms and will incorporate green technologies, including solar panels and an advanced energy monitoring and analysis system. The hub is positioned to offer dual‑sourcing solutions for global biopharmaceutical customers.
Timeline and context
Operations are expected to commence in 2027. The site previously achieved mechanical completion of an ADC production facility in 2025, and the drug substance facility at the hub is currently in the design phase. The development supplements the company’s global manufacturing footprint of drug substance and drug product sites to reinforce supply‑chain resilience.
