Transaction
WuXi Biologics has entered a disposal arrangement to divest its 51.1% equity interest in Bestchrom to an independent third party. The transaction is expected to be completed by December 2026.
Post-transaction status
Upon completion, WuXi Biologics will no longer hold any equity interest in Bestchrom and Bestchrom will cease to be a consolidated subsidiary of WuXi Biologics.
Strategic rationale
The company says the divestment will enhance capital allocation efficiency and reinforce focus on its core CRDMO business to better serve client needs worldwide.
About Bestchrom and leadership comment
Bestchrom specialises in biopharmaceutical downstream purification solutions, supplying chromatography resins, chromatography columns and related process development services. Dr. Chris Chen, CEO of WuXi Biologics, said the transaction reflects the value created as Bestchrom evolved from a start-up and will enable further optimisation of WuXi’s capital allocation while the company maintains focus on its integrated CRDMO platform.
