BASF launches Voraxor and Zidua PLUS herbicides for 2027 season

Key highlights
  • Voraxor contains the new active ingredient trifludimoxizan and delivers fast burndown—results in days, not weeks.
  • Voraxor controls marestail, henbit, kochia and pigweed and shows efficacy on PPO-resistant Palmer amaranth and waterhemp.
  • Zidua PLUS can be applied before or after crop emergence with no burn across trait or soil and targets large- and small-seeded broadleaf weeds and grasses.
  • Zidua PLUS provides exceptional residual endurance, maintaining more than 95% control after 60 days on key problem species.

Overview

BASF is introducing two herbicide solutions for the 2027 season to provide flexibility across variable field conditions and season-long weed control, from burndown to residual management.

Voraxor herbicide

Voraxor contains a new active ingredient, trifludimoxizan, formulated for rapid burndown—advertised to deliver results in days rather than weeks. It is presented as a versatile burndown option with consistent control of problematic weeds including marestail, henbit, kochia and pigweed, and it demonstrates efficacy on PPO-resistant species such as Palmer amaranth and waterhemp.

Zidua PLUS herbicide

Zidua PLUS is positioned as a flexible residual product that can be applied pre- or post-emergence without causing crop burn across trait or soil types. It targets both large- and small-seeded broadleaf weeds and grasses—listed examples include waterhemp, Palmer amaranth, redroot pigweed, foxtails and barnyard grass—and is claimed to maintain over 95% control after 60 days on key problem species.

Combined use

BASF presents the two products as a complementary approach for managing challenging weeds throughout the season.
