Introduction

Trinseo has launched its Fourth-Generation SBR Binder Platform, designed to enhance electric vehicle (EV) and Battery Energy Storage System (ESS) applications. This development is a key part of Trinseo's strategy to lead in high-performance materials for the energy transition.

Performance Enhancements

The new platform offers up to 30% higher peel strength than traditional SBR binders, improving electrode adhesion, coating thickness, and speed. These features are crucial for achieving higher-capacity cells and extending EV driving range.

The first product, VOLTABOND™ 109 Latex Binder, combines advanced performance with rebound control and compatibility with both graphite and low-to-medium silicon anodes. This versatility supports various cell designs and manufacturing conditions.
