Integration of Thann Site
Potasse et Produits Chimiques SAS, based in Thann, France, has joined Vynova Group and is now named Vynova PPC SAS. This integration marks the final step in a process that began in February 2016, aimed at increasing cooperation between the entities. The Thann site, located near the Swiss and German borders, employs 235 people and was previously part of the WeylChem Group of Companies. Both Vynova and WeylChem are owned by the International Chemical Investors Group (ICIG).
Production Capabilities
The Thann site features a state-of-the-art membrane electrolysis plant, inaugurated in 2015, for the production of chlorine and liquid potassium hydroxide (KOH). It also includes production installations for various potassium derivatives, such as liquid and solid potassium carbonate (K2CO3) and solid KOH in different forms and concentrations. Additionally, Vynova PPC produces a range of fine chemicals, specifically organic and mineral bromine compounds, and offers bromine recovery services from customers’ process streams.
Strategic Importance
The integration of the Thann site into Vynova Group enhances the company's ability to realize synergies identified over the past years. Vynova is now the only potassium derivatives producer with two manufacturing sites in Europe, located in Thann and Tessenderlo, Belgium. This dual-site capability allows Vynova to offer unique and flexible logistics solutions and ensures a highly reliable supply for its customers.
Expansion of Vynova Group
With the addition of the Thann site, Vynova Group now operates six manufacturing plants across Europe, including locations in Tessenderlo (Belgium), Wilhelmshaven (Germany), Mazingarbe (France), Beek (the Netherlands), Runcorn (UK), and Thann (France). The total number of employees in the Vynova Group has increased to 1,500.
