SPIE and Tesla Sign European Agreement for Battery Energy Storage Systems

Key highlights
  • The agreement lasts three years and is renewable.
  • SPIE will handle engineering, BoP construction, and commissioning.
  • Projects include a 50MW/200MWh system in Belgium and a 100MW/200MWh unit in France.

Agreement Overview

SPIE has signed a European framework agreement with Tesla for battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. The agreement, lasting three years and renewable, applies to all SPIE's European subsidiaries with BESS expertise.

Energy Storage and Services

Energy storage is crucial for integrating wind and solar energy and stabilizing power grids. SPIE will provide technical services, including engineering, Balance of Plant (BoP) construction, and commissioning, using Tesla Megapack solutions.

Project Standardization

The agreement standardizes legal and operational conditions for European Megapack projects, initially covering France and expanding to Poland and Germany, where SPIE has recognized competence.

Key Projects

SPIE is involved in several significant projects, such as a 50MW/200MWh system in Belgium and a 100MW/200MWh unit in France. These projects highlight SPIE's role in advancing energy storage in Europe.
