Contract and scope
Saipem has been awarded an onshore EPC contract for the Uthmaniyah Gas Compression Plant in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The scope covers engineering, procurement and construction of a new compression plant to serve the non-associated Uthmaniyah gas field.
Value and schedule
Saipem’s share of the contract amounts to approximately €900 million and the contract has a duration of approximately 42 months.
Partnership and national programme
The contract was signed by Saipem Nasser Saeed Al‑Hajri Contracting Company (SNSH), a jointly controlled company owned by Saipem and Nasser Saeed Al‑Hajri and Partners Company for Contracting (NSH). The award is the first EPC project under the National EPC Champion Program, which aims to develop a national EPC champion and maximize use of local resources and expertise.
Strategic impact
The new compression plant is intended to extend the production life of the Uthmaniyah field and help support Saudi Arabia’s growing energy demand. The award also reinforces Saipem’s presence in the Kingdom and promotes the use of local skills and resources.
