Located at Harvard’s Enterprise Research Campus in Allston, the centre occupies a 95,000 square metre site under a 10-year lease and has capacity for up to 500 employees across research, clinical development, data science and other areas.
Capabilities and organisation
The centre is designed as an end-to-end R&D environment spanning early-stage discovery through late-stage clinical development and explicitly integrates AI and data science specialists to support innovation in drug discovery and clinical analysis.
Strategic context
The investment expands Roche and Genentech’s presence in Greater Boston and forms part of a broader USD 50 billion commitment to US manufacturing and R&D, building on recent investments and manufacturing milestones in Holly Springs, North Carolina and Hillsboro, Oregon. Harvard’s Enterprise Research Campus—adjacent to Harvard’s Science and Engineering Complex and near Harvard Business School—aims to complete its first phase of construction in 2026.
