At a glance
  • The project will deploy a 4MW electrolyzer system in Siracusa, Sicily.
  • The system will produce up to 700 tonnes of green hydrogen annually.
  • The project is scheduled to start in 2025, powered by solar PV.
  • The initiative aims to decarbonize regional industrial operations.

Project Overview

Res Integra is set to install a four-megawatt electrolyzer system in Siracusa, Sicily, utilizing Ohmium International's PEM electrolyzer technology. The facility, located in one of Europe's largest petrochemical sites, will have an annual capacity of up to 700 tonnes of hydrogen. The project aims to support the decarbonization of regional industrial operations and mobility by producing green hydrogen powered by solar PV.

Technology and Implementation

Ohmium's PEM electrolyzers are chosen for their high efficiency and energy density. The modular units include integrated advanced power electronics, allowing rapid dynamic ramping, which is crucial for pairing with intermittent renewable energy sources. Res Integra will lead the implementation, ensuring seamless integration for their offtakers.

Timeline and Goals

The shipment of the Ohmium green hydrogen PEM solution is targeted to commence in 2025. The project aligns with broader efforts to reduce CO2 emissions in hard-to-abate industries and mobility. By integrating this technology, the initiative highlights the growing viability of green hydrogen in industrial decarbonization.
