QatarEnergy has entered into a 27-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with JERA, a leading Japanese energy company. The agreement involves the supply of up to 3 million tons per annum (MTPA) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Qatar to Japan.
Timeline and Signing
The SPA was signed during the 21st International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG 2026) held in Doha. Deliveries under this agreement are scheduled to commence in 2028.

The agreement was signed by His Excellency Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President and CEO of QatarEnergy, and Mr. Yukio Kani, Global CEO and Chair of JERA Inc., in the presence of senior executives from both companies.
