- The initiative supports tire recycling and environmental sustainability.
Project Overview
Orion S.A. is installing multiple tire pyrolysis oil (TPO) tanks at its plant in Jaslo, Poland. This initiative aims to enhance the production of circular carbon black, a sustainable material derived from recycled tire oil.
Process and Technology
The newly installed tanks will serve as reception points for TPO delivered to the plant. The TPO will then be pumped from these tanks to furnace black reactors, where it will be transformed into circular carbon black. Orion is currently the only producer in its industry capable of making carbon black entirely from TPO.
Environmental Impact
This circular process addresses a significant challenge in the tire industry: recycling old tires and reducing the environmental burden of tire waste. By converting TPO into circular carbon black, Orion contributes to more sustainable manufacturing practices.
Collaborative Efforts
Orion's journey toward sustainable manufacturing has been a collaborative effort with other companies dedicated to environmental stewardship. The company has formed partnerships with organizations involved in TPO production to drive positive change across the industry value chain, from tire waste management to resource recovery.
