Nouryon launches Perkadox PM-60ST-GR to restore recycled polypropylene performance

Key highlights
  • Perkadox PM-60ST-GR is a new organic peroxide technology for recycled polypropylene.
  • Added during extrusion, it rebuilds polymer chains, raising melt viscosity and resistance to deformation by up to 10×.
  • This enables greater use of recycled PP in packaging, automotive and consumer-goods applications that traditionally required virgin PP.
  • Nouryon presented the product at Plastics Recycling Show Europe (PRSE) 2026 in Amsterdam.

Product

Nouryon introduced Perkadox PM-60ST-GR, an organic peroxide designed to restore performance in degraded recycled polypropylene used in extrusion processing.

How it works

Added during the extrusion step, the peroxide rebuilds polymer molecular structure, increasing melt viscosity and restoring strength; testing reported up to a 10× gain in resistance to deformation when molten.

Applications and availability

The technology supports greater use of recycled PP in packaging, automotive and consumer-goods applications that have typically required virgin material and was presented at the Plastics Recycling Show Europe (PRSE) 2026 in Amsterdam (May 5–6, 2026).
